PowerShot V1: A Modern Point-and-Shoot Camera

The PowerShot V1 is a lightweight and compact camera that prioritizes ease of use and high-quality visuals. Key features include:

  • A redesigned grip for both standard and selfie shooting.
  • An ultra-wide-angle zoom lens (17-52mm for video, 16-50mm/F2.8-4.5 for stills).
  • A 1.4-type sensor with approximately 22.3 megapixels.
  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for improved autofocus and subject tracking.
  • An internal cooling fan for extended video recording.
  • A still/video switch for quick transitions, a first for PowerShot cameras.

EOS R50 V: Compact Cinema-Quality Camera

The EOS R50 V is a video-focused camera incorporating elements from Canon’s Cinema EOS line. Key features include:

  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF II for smooth autofocus performance.
  • 4K crop recording at 60fps with YCC 422 10-bit color.

Both cameras are set to launch in April 2025. The PowerShot V1 is priced at $899.99, while the EOS R50 V will retail at $649.99 (body only) or $849.99 with the RF-S14-30mm lens.
